Applied Informatics – Cognitive Interaction Technology

In our research we target artificial intelligent systems that support people in solving relevant problems which – according to our basic assumption – can only be successful by engaging in meaningful interaction with humans. We therefore develop intelligent systems such as robots, smart environments or assistive systems which provide intuitive interaction protocols and affordances by combining multi-modal perception with user and situation modelling. The user is brought into the loop from early on in continuous development-evaluation cycles.
