uni-muenster.de/GeoinformaticsThe mission of the institute is to conduct high-quality research in Geoinformatics and communicate it effectively to science and society, e.g. via open access publications and open source software; to develop methods, tools and technologies for observing, analysing, modelling, understanding and communicating geospatial phenomena and processes; to empower all parts of society to solve key spatial or location-related problems at local, regional and global levels (including citizens, schools, disadvantaged groups and developing countries); to maintain a tolerant, cooperative and well-equipped working environment to inspire its diverse and international staff members and students so that they can realise their full potential; and to actively engage in cooperations with international, national and local partners from various disciplines and different parts of society.
